If you think Serious Sam or DOOM is the hottest shooter, I have Warstride Challenges for you. We briefly talk about the incredibly driving FPS from the Focus Entertainment publishing house, created by the French team Friv2Online Games Studio.

Warstride Challenges is, without exaggeration, a frenetic first-person shooter developed by a small studio from Strasbourg. This is the team's debut game, inspired by old-school shooters like DOOM, Quake or Painkiller, as well as, as strange as it sounds, Trackmania -style racing.

This is not an ordinary corridor FPS, but a simulator and a competitive, sports shooting game in which players, bypassing traps and obstacles, must pass short levels at record speed, destroying all the demons in their path.

There is no plot in Warstride Challenges as such, but already at the start of early access, players will receive more than fifty levels, several types of weapons, dozens of bonus and special modes. And all this is seasoned with good optimization, excellent visual style and a heavy, blood-stirring soundtrack.

The avatar runs fast by default, but due to jumps and tackles, it can accelerate even faster. The player can control the height of the jump by holding down the spacebar, guide the character in flight and while sliding, and from any position shoot at anything that moves or looks suspicious.
If this is not an acrobatics level, then motley demons run out to meet the player: some try to get him with their claws, others attack in a pack, others do not hesitate to shoot back, and some are generally invulnerable to firearms, but burst from explosions. Conditions change from card to card and the degree of tension grows.

The player can click on the Tab button at any time to reset progress and instantly replay the run. You will have to do this almost more often than pulling the trigger, since Warstride Challenges gives a time limit to overcome the level and requires record levels to unlock new maps. Moreover, the level will not be credited to the player if at least one demon survives. Here are some more interesting facts about the project:

It's not just that at the beginning of the material I mentioned Trackmania. The fact is that in Warstride Challenges you also compete with your ghost double when trying to achieve the best time through the level. A white, translucent character repeats your previous result while you prevail on the map.
There is a nemesis system in Warstride Challenges. Participants can manually enter the nicknames of their gamemates or some record holder from the leaderboard into the group cells, and then red ghosts will also appear on the map, up to four characters per level.
The friv game awards medals for completing levels. Depending on the result, you get a bronze, silver, gold star or PGM badge. All of them are summed up in your personal statistics, and the record time fits into the world leaderboard.
There is one golden skull hidden in each level. Sometimes it lies right on the aisle, sometimes it is very securely hidden. Destroying this skull during the passage of the map is an additional, but optional task for the player. The sum of collected skulls, PGMs, gold and silver medals determines the availability of bonus levels.

Bonus levels are intricate locations designed for a player who deftly controls the character in flight and during a roll. Basically, they consist of a complex obstacle course and there are no enemies on them. Warstride Challenges also features an arena and special levels where you need to destroy hordes of demons within the allotted time instead of striving to run to the end of the map.
The further the player advances, the greater the arsenal available to him: first a pistol, then a shotgun, then a carbine. Starting from the fifth level, a special power becomes available to the avatar - time dilation, extremely useful for overcoming particularly difficult areas.
Like Trackmania, Warstride Challenges has a flexible level editor that allows anyone to create and test their own maps, fill them with enemies and set special conditions. For example, decide with what weapons you can go through it, whether a slowdown will be available, what is the time limit.
Community levels will become a separate mode for competitions on custom maps. Apparently, the developers plan to fill their offspring with user-generated content so that Warstride Challenges expands and grows through the efforts of gamers.

Imagine that you are playing an arcade session shooter, but do not sit in the corner with a railgun, but boldly rush towards your opponents and eliminate them with lightning speed, barely noticing - if you show due diligence, Warstride Challenges will pump your reflexes to a godlike level.
