The multi-deposit welcome package is the industry standard now. A headline figure spread across three or four deposits, each with its own match percentage and usually a batch of free spins bolted on.

The structure
A typical package runs something like this.
First deposit, a match at a stated percentage up to a cap, plus spins. Second deposit, smaller percentage, often a higher cap. Third, smaller again. Fourth, smallest percentage and sometimes the largest cap.
The advertised headline is every cap added together plus all the spins. It's a figure almost nobody ever receives, because reaching it means depositing the maximum qualifying amount four separate times and then clearing wagering on each tranche.
The realistic value is whatever you get out of the deposits you were going to make anyway.
Why it's structured this way
The staged design does one specific job. It turns a single decision into four.
Each deposit re-engages someone who might otherwise have played once and drifted off, and the escalating caps nudge bigger deposits later, once the habit's formed.
Not sinister. Standard retention design. But recognising it helps you judge the offer on your terms instead of its own.
The clauses that decide the value
Wagering requirement and its base. 40x on a $100 bonus is $4,000 of turnover. The same 40x applied to deposit plus bonus, on a $100 deposit matched at 100%, is $8,000. Identical headline, double the work. One sentence in the terms tells you which, and it's easy to skim past.
Game weighting. Pokies usually count 100%. Table games often 10% or less. Live dealer frequently zero. Playing an excluded category is time that does nothing to the requirement at all.

A worked example
Say the first tranche is a 100% match up to $500, 40x wagering on the bonus only, $5 max bet, pokies at 100%, 21-day window.
Deposit $200, receive a $200 bonus. The requirement is $8,000 of turnover, because 40 times 200. At $1 a spin that's 8,000 spins. At roughly 400 spins an hour, about twenty hours of play inside three weeks.
Whether that's reasonable depends entirely on how you already play. Someone playing a few hours a week can't realistically get there. Someone playing most evenings might do it without changing anything.
